Hi, ask the setting for any information on the their settling in/transition to preschool policy & procedure so you can see what happens during the first weeks of september's intake or what the setting does for a child and their family joining at any time of the year.

Page 4 of shc 31 - children will find it hard to settle in unless they feel comfortable with us. This means that we need to quickly find ways of communicating with them and building a relationship. Parents too will find it hard to leave their children unless they have total confidence and trust in us. This again is about communication and relationships.

Writing reflective accounts

If you're unable to identify a time that settling in has happened can you contact your assessor to see what they suggest?
