Parents noticeboard

Hi,
I'm new to this forum but I could really do with some help! For the past 4 years i have worked in an LEA school nursery, from september we are running wrap around care and i am the registered person, although i have never worked to the National Daycare Standards as LEA nurseries work totally different to private. Can anyone tell me the things i need to know for the Ofsted interview. I have started writing some policies and procedures but I also need to know what i need to display on parents noticeboard. Thankyou any information i would be really grateful.

Hi & a warm welcome to Silkysteps.

That's a question that will hopefully spur some lists from our members for you :D

This thread was started for a Childminding query & is an excellent base to start from .. Childminding policies and procedures

It's late now but fingers crossed you'll get a good 'notice board' response tomorrow. :cheerful:

Re parents notice board

Hi Andy H

I used to ensure that the following were up on my parents notice board when i worked at a nursery (now childminder)

A Copy of Ofsted Cert, Insurance Cert, Fire Procedure
Photos and names and roles of staff members (if big enough, or just a list)
Weekly Planning
Any new info re: the nursery, local community, child safety etc.

hope this is of some use. x

My parents notice board currently has - my certificate, insurance certificate, mission statement, rights for every child booklet, this months newsletter & intended direction of planning, notes on an outing we went on last week, the latest ofsted poster telling everyone how to make a complaint (children dressed as fire fighters) & a reminder for parents about bringing wellies

they don't read it, it is a waste of time, it fulfils a communication purpose, it could be filled with tripe and they wouldn't notice, it shows i work with parents <insert halo smiley>

Sarahx
