Started this course towards the end of my pregnancy and was doing great got several units completed and signed off within my 6 week summer break now im back in college my baby brain has well and truly kicked in;
Explain the importance of safeguarding- seems that much of an obvious self explanatory question Im really struggling to put it into words ?:duh:

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated =)

Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them. We must ensure children are kept safe from harm and to create an environment that will promote their well being and life chances. The safeguarding and welfare requirements are designed to support practitioners in creating settings which are welcoming, safe and stimulating, and where children are able to enjoy learning through play, to grow in confidence and to fulfill their potential.
Our Pre-School has in place policies that cover each area of Safeguarding and promotes children’s welfare. Policies must be implemented if a situation arises.

All members of staff understand the safeguarding policies and procedures and would be able to respond appropriately to any concerns such as:-

• Significant changes in children’s behavior
• Deterioration in their general well-being
• Unexplained bruising, marks or signs of possible abuse
• Signs of neglect
• Comments children make which give cause for concern

that is HOW your question is WHY? can children do it themselves? do you have a legal requirement? and remember explain means give examples i would be looking for your understanding of different needs at different development stages too. WHY not HOW
