Hi there I have just joined this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me on CYP 3.3 Task 4 4.3

explain the rights that children, young people and carers have in situations where harm or abuse is suspected or alledged.

Hi this is one of the questions my assessor actually passed so i hope this is of a help to you

Example

1 Children should recieve help so they can express themselves fully and undestand what is happening

2 A child or young person has a right not to be subjected to repeated medical examinations following any allegations of abuse, whether of a physical or sexual nature.

3 Family members normally have the right to know what is being said about them and to contribute to important decisions

4 Children should be kept fully informed of processess involving them.


The UNCRC articles 9, 19 and 34 the handbook has more information in it

Just a little more guidance

A child has the right to be protected against significant harm (children’s act 1989, every child matters 2004, United Nations Convention on the rights of the child etc).

Children should contribute their own account of their own views, they should be listened to and within certain circumstances these should be applied, but when a child is in significant harm then you would look at the child’s best interest to make them safe. They should be fully informed of everything that is happening to them, they should be consulted sensitively.
