Hi I'm really struggling to understand the question yet alone write anything down!
Explain the importance of a person centred and exclusive approach and give examples of how this is implemented in your own work?
Is it just me or are there words missing in this question? :banghead:

TASK 2 assessment criteria 2.3
The importance of a person centred and inclusive approach is your looking at the individual child and the needs of that child. My setting works with many outside agencies in order that the individual child has in place all they need to be included in all aspects of the school day. We have several children within our school who have different needs and they are assessed individually so they can be given the correct resources or 1:1 support in order for them to achieve their own individual goals. Some children will have an individual education plan (IEP) which will set out what they aim to achieve within a set time frame with support other children may need the school grounds to be adapted we have adapted our school in order for the child to gain access around the school ground so things like ramps in place and hygiene suites. Some children will require specialist equipment to help with their education and development anything from large keyboards to hoists. Its all about the needs of the individual child also some children may need the activity adapted to enable them to take part.

Thank you so much wendy, thats a great help! i've been trying cram so much in over the half term i think i've frazzled my mind a little!
my setting works very closely with sure start also planning for the term ahead and observations are at the heart of our practice,
also i have noticed that my question sheet says exclusive not inclusive! that doesn't help when your brain's fried to bits

If you read through the framework notice every statement that recognises & respects children as unique individuals, from there you'll see the importance of planning with a child-centered approach.

eg. on page 5 it states the EYFS aims to provide:
a secure foundation, through learning and development opportunities which are planned around the needs and interests of each individual child and are assessed and reviewed regularly;

and page 6: children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.
