Pancake recipe

For a traditional pancake batter try these ingredients.

:shootings 2 cups flour (sifted to remove any lumps)
:shootings 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
:shootings 1/2 teaspoon salt
:shootings 1 egg, slightly beaten
:shootings 1 1/2 cups milk

A plate with caster sugar sprinkled over
Lemon juice

METHOD

:partlyclo Put all the dry ingredients into a bowl
:partlyclo Stir in the egg and enough milk for batter to pour easily.
:partlyclo Heat a little oil or butter in a frying pan.
:partlyclo Pour quarter of the batter into the pan and move around so that it spreads out.
:partlyclo Flip, toss or turn the pancake over once it has slightly browned on one side. Wait until the other side has browned.
:partlyclo Turn the pancake out onto a plate sprinkled with caster sugar.
:partlyclo Squirt with a little lemon juice and add a filling of your choice (see our other thread :yummy: !)
:partlyclo Roll up and place onto a small plate with fork!!

:partlyclo This amount makes about 4 pancakes (so you may want to double or even triple the quantities!! :D )

Magical Mammoth now has a PDF on how to make pancakes with the children!
