Subject to parliamentary approval, any school delivering the primary curriculum will be given an extra non-contact day for 2010-11 to assist with the reformed primary curriculum coming into effect in 2011-12.The Department also plans to make a temporary reduction to the minimum length of the school year for all maintained schools in 2011-12 to take account of the extra public holiday for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
