News Item Revised EYFS details published

A revised version of the EYFS Statutory Framework and Practice Guidance document was published on 19 May 2008. The changes made provide clarification of areas where feedback from local authorities, schools and early-years providers has indicated this would be helpful. None of the legal requirements has changed.

The changes to the ages of children allowed have caused major concerns among childminders though!

A child will be classed as 5 when they are in reception class during term time for before and after school care...

But not during school holidays, inset days etc!

It is going to be an administration nightmare, organising all those variations for affected minders

Let's hope they see sense and change it before EYFS goes live!
