Default Advice needed - Activity to promote listening and communication

Hi everyone, I need to come up with a activity for an interview that will last 20 minutes, it will be with reception class or year one.

My idea so far is to do a "Getting to know you" activity. I would print pictures of things relating to questions that I would ask the children i.e 'Do you have a pet?' - print pics of cat, dot, rabbit etc, 'What colour are your eyes?' - pics of blue eyes, green eyes etc..

Then I will have a board that I have made, maybe in the shape of a tree (nicely painted) covered in small bits of velcro.

The children can then stick the pictures on the tree. I can also have simple words printed out too as the age range might be more advanced.

Do you think this is a good idea? Any suggestions would be a big help.

I wanted the names of the children to be stuck on the tree too but obviously I wont know their names. Should I write them myself or let them do it...?

The interview is on Tuesday its now Friday! Oh I wanted to be more organised!

Please help? X
