Sir Michael Wilshaw will be starting his new position as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector (HMCI) of Education, Children's Services and Skills in January 2012, after being approved for the role by MPs in a pre-appointment hearing held in November.
He will succeed Miriam Rosen, who was appointed in July 2011 as HMCI on an interim basis.
