Hi I thought the ratio was 1:8 at this age (not that you would want 8 if you were on your own!) might be best to check with Ofsted. I work at a pre-school and this is the ration to which we work with - it may be different with a childminder. I am also thinking of setting up on my own so would be interested to hear what you find out.
