Hi, I have been a childminder for 15 years!

The first thing to do is to contact your local sure start and ask about courses for registration.

You need to go on a pre-registration course, most of which will include first aid.

Depending on where you live, you will have to do this before you apply to Ofsted... then you have your Ofsted visit and your CRB goes off to check your suitability (everyone over 16 in your house needs an enhanced CRB).

With that goes your doctor's check ... while you're waiting, you can be getting your policies and procedures and other paperwork in place.

There are lots of helpful information sites available or you can have a nosey at www.eyfsforchildminders.webnode.com for lots of useful information.

I hoep this helps! If you need any more tips just ask!
