I have fond memories, as does Lee, of not daring to pick them because we'd wet the bed!
And also using them to tell the time, with one puff for 1 o'clock, 2 puffs for 2 o'clock and on until all the seeds had gone (I'm sure everyone did that!) It's no wonder I was always late!!
I understand that they are a natural diuretic when eaten, the entire plant is edible, but can be bitter! The french name is 'pissenlit', 'lit' meaning 'bed'! The milky sap is apparently excellent at removing warts, pimples, moles,
calluses and sores, it also soothes bee stings and blisters!
So there you go, all I know about dandelions!
