Coffee Publication of the 2006/07 National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) results

'Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives: A Cross Government Strategy for England' calls on individuals, families, schools, businesses, charities, LAs and the NHS to play their part in fighting obesity. This document can be downloaded from www.dh.gov.uk/obesity and has been followed up by two important publications.A report on the 'National Child Measurement Programme: 2006/07' is now available from www.ic.nhs.uk/pubs/ncmp0607 which contains results for Reception and Year 6 at national, LA and PCT levels (it is not appropriate to publish school-level data because small class sizes could risk identifying individual children). Schools achieved a great improvement of 80% participation by eligible children. Also published was, 'How to set and monitor local child obesity prevalence targets: guidance for Primary Care Trusts and local authorities', which aims to help LAs/PCTs use the data for local performance indicators, and can be downloaded by following the link below.
