Biggest change for your job?

If or When you decided to become a childminder what is/was the biggest upheaveal to ready your home to take other children?

Securing my garden and Cooker gas bottle position/storage would of been the biggest changes, if I'd gone for childminding some years a go!

I'm not a childminder, but went from full-time work to full-time mother when we adopted our 2 and the bigest changes for us were......EVERYTHING!!!!:D

Seriously though, it was little things like remembering to close the safety gate, for DH turning pan handles inwards, even checking to make sure none of the house plants were poisonous!:sarcastic

Best adjustments ever though!!!:cheerful: :bouncy: :spin: :goodvibes

I did'nt have to make a lot of changes because i have a young child of my own anyway, but i did'nt know it took so long to get other kids, i have had some fone calls but no contracts signed yet!!! things are really quite just now. I will just have to wait

Sharing myself!

I think the biggest change for me was to have to learn how to share myself between more than one child!

When I started childminding, I had only ever been used to looking after one child (my own son, then 3yrs old). I soon got used to it though, and it actually did my son the world of good, in lots of ways (sharing, cooperation, social skills etc.) having other children around.

Paperwork! As Parents you do everything that childminders do without any paperwork, as a childminder you have to get used to doing paperwork after your days work is done I guess you need to get yourself organised!

I didn't really find it difficult, I had 3 young children when I started minding, I love paperwork so didn't really find that a bind :-)
