Links between homework and wellbeing?

Does anyone know of any research or case studies that looks into the provision of homework and the type of relationships it promotes between parent and child?

in my house saying no to homework in primary had a hugely positive effect on our relationship! lol i refused to allow any of my kids to do it unless they fancied it, they read and did family things in the evening and they re all very bright and happy and doing great homework in secondary school. i would love to start a reclaim the evenings for fun campaign!
