Doctor's Callouts
Jade, my youngest, is quite poorly at the moment, having had 2 bad days with diarrhoea and 2 nights of vomiting (today being the worst!!:vomit:), her temperature has gone up slightly and she is very listless - she fell asleep leaning against the sofa! She cries when I try to move her and is just a big floppy lump - even Bob the Builder can't rouse her so it must be serious!!:sarcastic Anyway, I rang the local doctors surgery and asked for a callout explaining that Jade is only 22 months old and complaining when moved so I really didn't want to drag her out in the buggy! (DH takes the car to work!) They rang back 5 minutes later telling me that I would have to bundle her up, vomit and everything, and I had 10 minutes to get round so the doctor could check her out. Under no circumstances would they send him to our home!!!!:irked: What happens in your area? Am I right to be upset about this? I know that doctors are very busy, but I have had to either wait or reappoint while a GP heads out on a home visit, (and not whinged) so why couldn't they do this for us? And to top it all off, I have a bad head cold and a temperature too!!:gloomy: Please send hugs and healthy thoughts! lol:D
Thanks, Tracey |
huge hugs
our doctors will come out if it is dire emergency, e.g. when hubby came out of hosp there was no way of me getting him there so doc came out, did have to wait till end of surgery though sometimes i do feel that it depends on which receptinist that you get as to how good the service is, we have one who feels she is "god" as in noone is getitng past her. hope she is feeling a little better and you are too xx |
BIG HUGS from me too. My doctor is the same, my son was very ill and vomiting, temperature, eyes rolling, lethargic and too big for me to carry at 11 years old! and I had to take him to the surgery. When I got there I was told to wait as my doctor had been called out on a home visit. When the doctor eventually saw my son he was sick all over the nice man's suit and shiny shoes!! It did make me chuckle. Funny enough my son was taken seriously then and dealt with rather promptly. FARLEYS

Yes, I had encountered the 'rottweiller' receptionist! :D I forgot to put that the doctor didn't know I'd requested a callout, he was asked if he could squeeze my daughter in!!!!! GRRRRRR:gnasher:
Thanks for the hugs, I feel better now. :cheerful: |
Sorry to hear both you and your daughter are not well *sending healthy vibes your way*
I can't comment on the doctor callout thingy as I don't have a doctor and no kids (of my own). From New Zealand originally so never settled anywhere here long enough to have a proper doctor. Hope you and your daughter are feeling better soon :goodvibes Kylie :cheerful: |
