units 345/346
Hi all.
Am new to the site and I must say I am finding it very useful. I am a new assessor (training on the job), and everyday is different! Can any learners or assessors help me with the following - I have learning support assistants working in a special needs school who work with children between 14 and 19 years. As they go under the direction of a teacher, they do not observe, implement or evaluate plans for children. Can anyone give me advice on the sorts of evidence they can collect/write about and be observed on or is there anyone else out there doing same units and in same sort of postion that can give me and learners some much needed info so that I can get some obs done to cover these? Sorry, its level 3 and units are supporting children with literacy and numeracy! Thanks in advance: |
Hi, a warm welcome to the site.
I've moved this to the Assessor forum in the hope other members will be able to help out Enjoy Silkysteps xx |
For the purpose of assessments for their NVQ it could be possible to arrange for your candidates to write a letter to some of the parents of the young people to get permission to observe their child as part of their course work. They could then do free writting observations of the young people they have permission for. They could also use any form of observation or assessment records that the school use.
It will be worth speaking to your IV to see what they would say was acceptable. Unit 303 is the unit about observing children & young people's development & progress & it does say that virtually all of the P.C's are difficult to observe so this means you could cover this ground with Professional Discussion so the candidates can show you & explain how the school observe & record information about development. Hope this helps. |
