death/serious injury policy

Help needed please! Our eyso gave us a big folder to complete and we need to include the above policy. We have looked on various sites but can't find one and we have no idea where to start, any advice would be gratefully appreciated:wave:

Hiya,

As a suggestion by your support officer is it possible they would know the sort of document & content to look for - or be able to guide you to an example you could adapt ?

Have never heard of this policy before. However would think it needs to include:
contacting ofsted if there is a death or serious injury (think it must be done asap and at least within 14 days).
Proccedure to follow in the event of a death or serious injury.
Proccedure for contacting parents if member of staff is killed or injured.
Debriefing staff and children who winess the death or serious injury ie counselling and what and how to tell the children.
Policies and proccedures should be reviewed after a death or serious injury.

Hope this helps x

You might have mentioned this within your H & S policy - re: steps to take in dealing with serious injury - ref: RIDDOR notifying OfSTED etc.

I'm personally struggling with an Observation Policy....has anyone got one that I might sneak a peak?
