Crisis fundraising ?
Has anyone had to fundraise to bridge financial gaps because of low intake numbers ?
What sort of things did you do and who did you contact to seek help through it all ? |
yes, at my old group, we used to do boot sales, and sell soup/hot dogs..................used to bring in enough each month to tide us over......and once, one assistant and I went without our December wages (OUCH!) to keep the group going. oh the nostalgia.......and still they stabbed me in the back! Oh well....................yes, lots of things..........we also once placed a (new) toilet outside our local shops, inviting people to 'spend a penny for playgroup'...................it was FAB, even the local press came out for that one! We raised enough money from that little escapade to buy our climbing frame..............

Yes
We did a treasure hunt attached to a party brought in over £500 without to much out lay or time. It's great as it gives the children something to do when it wet and cold. Somethings were made and there was a prize for the most money raised. Parents and grandparents gave children money for the amount of items found there was also a prize for the best collection. If your numbers are very low can you cut staff hours a little its not nice not if it keeps everyone in a job it worth it. |
