Modroc bandage and these Mummy hands would be a great messy activity to do with older children :D although would have to follow those instructions rather than plastering the children into the gloves :wide-eyed .. unless you personally know the staff at the local fracture clinic. lol

Just added Miss Muffet's excellent craft tube photo to the first post :D

With a slot cut into the top of the plastic lid you could collect donations from your parents or take payment in exchange for a small ghost or other themed goodie bag ... :witch-bro

I may be the only one, but cannot understand why in preschools and nurseries we would want to introduce witches, ghosts, spirits, trick or treating to children,
I just cannot see the sense in frightening the under 5s
Or am I missing something?

I don't think you're missing anything at all .. lots of people don't like the thought of introducing halloween because of it scaring the children, it depends very much on how it's presented .. disspelling fear by allowing the children to access these sorts of resources can be extremely beneficial in building their natural resistance & responses to situations of fear.

As with fact & fiction it's good to be able to draw lines on what's what & where.. talking about things that scare us gives us the confidence to say no and the courage to turn & walk away.

No part of halloween should be used to seriously scare children or adults and every group will plan for their own personal situation .. pick up on the lighthearted element of the day & it can be great fun

I take your point and maybe I will look at how I feel about it again:smile:
