pre school costs
 

I have just received a bill from my daughters pre school only to find the cost of session has gone up, i have had no notification of any cost changes, is this normal?

I'm not sure what the legal notification is but would of thought out of politeness they could of let their parents know !

Are they committee run where the rise in fees were decided on at an open meeting ?

We have had a letter to tell us that fees are staying the same for now but this will be reviewed in January. It seems that they are giving us several months warning.

The preschool is on school grounds they are no longer commitee run, we were informed last year of a price increase as it went up 3 pound a session, i know its only gone up 50p a session now but having received a bill which is sent out in arrears i have to find an extra 8 pound, im not happy going to phone them now, il let u know what im told.

Just phoned, someone separate does the billing and they were told to increase the cost as instructed by the leader and she was not aware that we had not been told as leader does the newsletters for preschool and we should of been informed.Told me she would speak to leader as we should be informed, but im still not happy as we should have been informed before the changes happen so we are not hit with a bill that is more than was expected.

Thought it was half a term notice to parents ? Go in and speak to the leader personally,she should have sent out a letter.

I don't blame you for being annoyed, any rise is hard to absorb especially a £3 one :wide-eyed, keeping on top of newsletter content can be really tough at times as well though.

Would your leader appreciate an offer of help putting it together & making sure its distributed to parents/staff ?

we always give as much notice as possible for a fee rise. wouldnt ever just give out the envelopes with a rise on them. best way to loose parents i would imagine!!
