unit 402 observations question
 
hi everyone, im really stuck and not sure what sort of thing im meant to write about for unit 402, this is my last big assignment and im stressing out about trying to get this done in time.

the question is
2.1 explain the factors that need to be considered when observing in the early years.
factors
-staff resourses
-timeliness
-methid
-setting/area
-safety
-child development
-health and well being
-childs age/interests
-additional needs

i really appreciate any help just to get me started. thanks

Hi, think about your setting and how they make sure colleagues take your place with the children whilst you record observations, the equipment you use for observation - forms, digital devices, cameras. For timeliness consider the time of day you'd plan to make an observation how that does or doesn't coincide with daily routines (meals, toileting, going home) and also how long the ob will take. What methods of observation do you use and why. Do you observe inside and outside, in busy noisy area or quiet. How safe

What aspects of children's development do you record, are they well or feeling ill, hungry or tired as these can alter how a child would ordinarily behave and could provide a false account of their development.
