Task: For each of the following national/local policies and legislation you will need to analyse how they can support skills for the development of children’s speech, language and communication*

To guide you please include the following*
-The main aim for children’s speech, language and communication*
-A summary of how it encourages support for the development children’s speech, language and communication*
-Can the aim and strategy be used in early year’s settings?

Hi you'll need to research each one and use the study materials your tutor's provided xx

• Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

https://www.gov.uk/government/public...e-framework--2
-The main aim for children’s speech, language and communication*
eg. quote from page 8
Communication and language development involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations

Communication and language is an EYFS prime area of learning, settings are required to plan activities so that children have a variety of opportunities to attain the early learning goals - more on pages 9, 10, 12

-A summary of how it encourages support for the development children’s speech, language and communication*
-Can the aim and strategy be used in early year’s settings?
-How can or do you embed the aims and ideas into you own setting?

• Every Child a Talker

http://webarchive.nationalarchives.g...81?uc=force_uj

-The main aim for children’s speech, language and communication*

"Every Child a Talker (ECAT) aims to:
  • raise children's achievement in early language
  • improve practitioners' skills and knowledge
  • increase parental understanding and involvement in children's language development
-A summary of how it encourages support for the development children’s speech, language and communication*
-Can the aim and strategy be used in early year’s settings?
-How can or do you embed the aims and ideas into you own setting?

• ICAN charity/talking point*

-The main aim for children’s speech, language and communication*

" I CAN has a number of programmes and initiatives to support children’s centres, nurseries and pre-schools."
