Asking for advice .... verruca
 

My little girl (3) has a verruca .... I've tried all the usual over the counter products ... and my HV says to leave it alone and let nature take it's course ... But it's getting worse! I'd be grateful if any one had experience / advice to share.

Have you been to the doctors ?

Doctor just refers me to HV advice ... ie; 'let nature take it's course'! ARRRggghhh!

A lot of people follow that advice these days, unless it is causing pain and distress - seems the idea is your body develops an immnity to them so later on you do not get them, dont know if it works, could always try a chiropodist for advice

I know this sounds like a real old wives tale but my hubby suffered for years had them frozen burnt etc and my mum told him to cut a potato in half rub the cut side across the verrucca and then bury the spud in the garden at midnight! He did the rubbing bit and threw the spud in the bin and after a while it did go and never came back! Could be coincidence but who knows?!

It is an over the counter thing, but probably not one you've heard of.

Cuplex Gel.

This is GREAT stuff. Its got rid of my verucca and two warts on my sons hand. My son was 4yrs old at the time, and he was fine with it. It is powerful stuff though, so be careful, you have to get it RIGHT ON the spot. If it goes on any surrounding skin it can burn. Definitely worked though.

son had one, and we were advised to leave it, son is 10, we did as was causing no pain and it has now gone (over a few months) and has not appeared again

my son now 13 has suffered from these for years. occasionally has them cryogenically treated but still has them. i have been told my medical practicioners that he may grow out of it
