planning for a child joining my setting
part of one of my modules is to "describe 4 important areas where you can help children make the transition"
I have to write for an 8month old and a 4 year old. I also have to explain what I would do for the 4 areas chosen to support the children. Any advice ? ( I think I'm most stuck on what to write for "areas" ) Thanks in advance for any input :With love: |
settling in.
Key worker.
Other staff within the childs group. the children in their group. Do they know anybody already. The rest of the staff at the nursery. If he has a favourite possession. is there a picture timetable of the routine. Do they have a peg or draw. The toilet area. Hope this gives you some ideas. |
arent the 4 areas the eyfs areas? and just a sticky point key workers do not exist you are KEY PERSONS/PEOPLE you are a special person in the child and families lives not a worker, Tina bruce and the rest of the eyfs panel spent hours on that and although it is a word it is very very important. try to get people to use it, workers, devalues us

Hi, a warm welcome to the site. This thread is a little old now and the EYFS has changed twice in that time. Can you elaborate on what you've been asked to do? What your course name is and which handbook you're using? xx |
Hi :) Yes its the level 3 nursery nurse diploma and the question I am stuck on is...
Think about planning for a child to join your setting. You will be thinking about 2 children for this exercise, one who is 8 months old and one who is 4 years old. Describe 4 important areas where you can help children make the transition. For the 4 areas you chose, explain what you would do to support the 2 children. Thank you for getting back to me xx |
Hi all again :)
