Thinking about becoming a Childminder?
Want to be a childminder ?
I've just come across this comprehensive run down of information that anyone with a thought to becoming a Chilminder should find interesting ... CHILDMINDING ~ from LearnDirect-advice.co.uk OFSTED also have this PDF Guide to Childminding to help advise. Once you've read all that and want to know what the next step is visit..... Childcarelink.gov.uk
You can read the 'full daycare' ~ NATIONAL STANDARDS AND An additional set of Guidance for Day Care & Childminding ~ these should be read alongside the above full daycare national standards :sarcastic (why they don't just rewrite/update the standards is beyond me .. would save a heap of cross referencing & time ~ imo of course :D !!!) You can Choose to download a Word.doc or PDF file.
Order the Birth To Three Matters framework from this page of SURESTART.gov.uk Additional cards for BTTM can be downloaded for free HERE Let us know what you think and how you get on  |
In our area you have to complete the ICP and first aid course before you are registered, the early years team give out the application forms halfway through the ICP. Although this seemed a bit harsh at the time it did mean that you were prepared for your initial registration inspection visit.

It's not the ICP course now.
You must now do the FIRST UNIT of the diploma course "Home-based Childcare" (Cache level 3) If you wish you can then go on to do the whole of the diploma. |
