ucas points
 

hi all

please help, I've been informed today that a qualification which i completed in 2004 may count as ucas points i completed the cache diplome in child care and education in 2004 and got an A grade. Is it just diplomas completed in more recent years or would mine also be included in this and if so does anyone know how many ucas points it would be equivalent to?
Any advice really appreciated

I did the same qual - and I'm pretty sure there was a matix sheet in the original handbook that converted to ucas points - although I might be wrong.
I know that when I signed up for course the ucas points were used as a 'selling point' ...........ha ha, never did I for one minute think I would ever actually go to uni!! Although when I did- I only every told them I had the qual, I never had to do the ucas points as such.

did you have to do the full foundation degree, how long was your course and would you recomend doing it. It was part of my long term education plan if you know what i mean but i sort of didnt do everything as planned- family etc, I don't think i really understand the whole ucas points thing.

I did the foundation degree route, but I will say due to the content/style of the Diploma course I found it a lot (and I mean a LOT) easier than the people that had completed other L3s.
I think that might have been why the diploma carried ucas points.

It took me just over three years to complete up to BAhons level. Hard work but i loved every minute of it. (well maybe not the couple of days before assignments were due!!)

Well done you, I think I'm definitely going to look into doing it then, I got an A grade on the diploma as i do like to stretch myself so hopefully that will also count towards something even if it just means it being a little easier than if i'd done a different level 3 course.
