Ratios for outings

Hi

Can anyone please tell me if there is a specific adult to child ratio for taking 2, 3 and 4 year olds on outings please? I can't seem to work it out from the EYFS - there seems to be lots of reference to increasing ratios but as far as I can see it's up to the setting to decide what is appropriate/necessary for each outing, having initially carried out a risk assessment.

Ever felt like you're being totally blind???????

Thanks :-)

Hi, the ratios should be set in your policies, the minimum that OFSTED will accept on outings within the early years group is 1 adult - 2 children, obviously it all depends on where you are going-how far for example and what your risk assesment says about the outing as to taking more children or not-hope that helps. Outings

As a oldie with years of:dizzy::hissyfit: childcare I certainly think it is two per adult.I do supply work with a local preschool and would not go out if this was not in practice!
