help crying baby!!!!!
hello,
Ok, i have been mindin a 7 month old for 2 months now, all he does is cry.... i have tried everything, making sure he is clean and fed, distraction using the toys and music, talking and cuddleing him, but all that seems to work is sticking him in the pushchair and going out. This is all good and well but i dont really want yo trail the streets for 8hrs a day?? has anyone got any suggestions on how to ge through this and help him to feel more settled??? Thanks in advance Joanne :banghead: |
could just be that he is a baby who cries a lot...my son did....never seemed to stop unless out and about...but with others he was fine..opposite to your problem really. I assume you have asked mum what the is like at home and how she deals with it when or if it happens. A consistent approach by all may help a bit.
must admit to leaving him for a while to get on with it, but that was my own child....he was always worst when waking up...such a temper...even now he still hates waking or being woken up...avoid at all costs for at least an hour !! (22 now!) |
my daughter was like that it turned out in the end she was allergic to cows milk, once she was on soya milk she calmed down and was fine, shes still allergic at 18 yrs, also when she was a baby she loved the washing machine, she liked to watch it and listen to the noise. She cried quite a lot for the first year until my doctor discovered her allergy.

Crying baby
Have you some of his own toys, blankets from home?Has Mum given you a timetable of his routine? Have you talked to her about his crying? Was he looked after by anyone else? Hard for you, hope he settles down soon

Brandy brings up a good point .. have you noticed he calms down with 'white noise', does a fan, car journey, washing machine, hoover, hairdryer etc distract him ?

Jo....have you heard of the 5 's'?
Not sure how appropriate this is for your situation...link to a brief summary- http://www.biausa.org/WVirginia/crying/Calm.htm Air x |
Thanks air
I hadnt heard of this technique, will definately try it..... |
Assuming you have other children to look after at the same time - have you tried carrying him in a sling to see if he is happier being close to you?
