Childminder Newsletters?

Does anyone issue a newsletter to their parents ?

I've just come across this sample one on BCMA ~ Childminders Newsletter and whilst it looks brilliant wondered how frequently (for time management )they'd be given out, termly or weekly ?

I do one!! Every month then there are no excuses about 'you didn't tell me you were taking a day off...' etc. I talk about what we've done, what we're going to do, any training I've done, bits I need parents to remember eg clothing for the weather, sun cream, any birthdays etc
I have a bit of paper and pop anything I think of on it over the month then on the last week when I'm thinking about billing day I put it all together... I have a list of extra stuff eg playdough recipes, in case I;ve got too much room left

I make up my own newsletter too - I have loads of fun designing my own. I update the parents on coming themes, successes, birthdays, how I am doing on my courses and upcoming time off, pictures of the kids, clothing etc. Still get the excuse from one set of parents "oh but I didn't know" - doesn't wash with me now cuz I know EVERYONE got one!

Never thought to put play ideas on it - nice one!

I do one each month in which I include any birthdays, what we did last month, what we plan to do in the month ahead, any holidays/days off I have coming up (they have full details at beginning of year but always worth reminding them), any courses/training I have done. I also ask each time if there is anything that individual families are celebrating that they would like us to share.

Hi and welcome to Silkysteps

I've had a look & can only find the BCMA's actual newsletters ..

What is or isn't happening with the one you have ?

i have tried cut and pasting but it wont let me alter it in anyway. probably me!

Hmm are you sure it can be edited ?

Have you tried getting your own layout together in Word.doc or Open office maybe ?

I've been thinking about doing one. Would any of you ladies be willing to post yours up here so I can see what sort of things you put and how you lay it out please?
