Hmmm.......did you know they are changing the 'format'

Yes, letters have gone out today to say it's being made easier to do online and will apparently be shorter too. You won't be penalised for having the older version though.

What an absolute 'pain' though - I'm halfway (ish) through mine and now they're changing it! Not funny! Think mine is going right back on the shelf until we know what the new format will be!!!

Hmm, yes. Mine's done and I'm not doing anything with it till Easter now, it can jolly well wait till they've decided what they are doing!

we have recently had an ofsted.....I had done my sef in rough on plain paper and explained to our inspector the reason i had not completed the full form online was because they are changing the format.......I showed her my action plans from the whole year to prove i was always self evaluating, i even had a small notebook with evaluations of recent trips we had been on with different staff showing different opinions then an overall evaluation, i showed minutes from staff meetings etc............ofsted wrote in the report that although the sef hadnt been filled in completely there was enough other evidence and knowledge to see that our self evaluation was outstanding

That sounds like a good plan, noting down evaluations in a book.

That's great advice Farleys thank you.

Just printed the form out. I took over as Manager in Nov last year and the previous manager had only made a few notes on the SEF. Printer is red hot after printing that all out....

Don't forget the online format has not yet changed!

The new style SEF can only be accessed as a paper version.

ofsted are saying (as of last Wednesday) that the new online version will contain any work that we've already put online, in the correct sections and that is why the change-over is taking so long...

Personally I am still strongly advising people to back up their original if they have it on the Ofsted site just in case.

hth :cheerful:
