Thanks Guys,
This site is so good for support, I have decided that For now Im giving up on minding and am looking for work in a nursery or school envoronment, I posted out an application today so fingers crossed, also keeping eye on the job section of childcare link. I guess the reality of being a childminder just isnt right for me at this time... I'm not prepared to give up my home and to be so disrespected, Im not big on confrontation and find myself bottling up my feelings which in turn isnt that great for me of my other half. Childminding is a good way to make a living especially if it fits around your own children, but its also very Lonely..... Im looking forward to working as part of a team again. All the best for the festive period Jo |
Well done for making the decision Jo - it can't have been easy. There have been times over the years when I have wondered what on earth I'm doing letting strangers wreck my house every day and yes, I totally agree, it can be very lonely.
Good luck with the applications - how's the cv coming along? Sarahx:smile: |
Hi Sarah
Thanks:D CV has been tweaked and updated, I,ve actually applied to a new build nursery due to open in the new year, think it would be nice to land a job there as everyone would be in the same boat, no new person feeling that always comes with new jobs. I shall keep you informed... Im thinking a new year a new start. Jo:smile: |

For me that is everyday this week lol. I agree with you Jo and if it wasn't for the friends I have on sites like these and they know who they are then I would have given up a long time ago. Good luck with your application Jo. I cut out an advert for a local CC nursery on wednesday but I love this job but it scared the life out of one of my parents who saw it (what do you mean did I leave it there on purpose - Moi) love Kate |
Ha Kate.....:rotfl:
I like your style... I dont have my own children just yet, so maybe i will feel different when i do? I went into this with the idea that we were starting a family and it would work well together... Since starting this both myself and my other half have decided we might quite like a dog instead?:sarcastic Jo |
Kate I so know where you are coming from! One of my biggest fears about accredition is that it will compromise the care given t the under 3's, which I mainly care for, also most parents in my area want their children to go to preschool before starting school at 4 years old to get used to a more formal environment and larger social group. We don't have a childminding network but think when our children centre opens we might have one then, so will have to wait and see! Sarah I'd love to come up and let you care for my guys but there are 8 of them, and thats why childminding is a good option for me! perhaps we'll be able to get together one day lol!xx
