Whoop whoop - yayy Working at last!

HAPPY 2009

Gosh where has the time gone?…please forgive my lack of ‘blogging’….:sorry:

Well we celebrated our first Christmas in the Summer and in the sunshine!...It’s now officially Autumn here, but it doesn’t feel any cooler…

And yes I’m working…part time….and on what the Aussies call a ‘casual’ basis….which basically means no contract!

However, it is paid work and I’m loving being part of an early childhood education team again.

The setting where I am working is a community based early childhood education kindergarten, with a philosophy where children come first and where children’s play is valued and recognised as a catalyst for their learning.

The learning environment is ‘investigative’ and ‘experiential’…the curriculum is a collaborative venture, negotiated with children and their parents and developed by their teachers.

It offers everything I read and wrote about whilst studying for my degree:reading:…it is what I strived so very hard to achieve whilst I was leading an early years setting in the UK….I am truly ‘home’…..

I love the fact that if Tom asks to turn the hose on and make mud puddles in the mud pit he can…"no worries Tom"

Mia is curious about how veggies grow…so a veggie garden is dug…

It is so meaningful to the children to see that the teachers respond to their ideas and suggestions….its all about ownership and boy do the children get a buzz when the teachers acknowledge whose idea it was!:rotfl:
