physical- its important to develop physical skills-gross motor such as running, climing, jumping, fine motor-grabbing, clapping, wiggling fingers etc it develops ballance and ajility etc

keeps child fit, streches/builds their muscles, encourages healthy living in future, may help apetite, builds body co ordination.

helps positive mental health-builds childs confidence, team skills and independance, allows child to let off steam, may allow child to express feelings through movement-dance, builds concepts of shape, space, distance etc, allows child to burn energy, may help child sleep well afterwards or at night and improve appetite which will help child concentrate, help child feel like they belong..etc

hope this helps
