Preparing for Baby: Worries, Hopes and Fears
Parenting expert Lucy Atkins offers advice on the first few weeks at home with your new arrival

The first few weeks home from hospital with your new baby can be amongst the most tiring and worrying for parents. Sleepless nights, bad eating habits and your home turning into a visitor attraction are just some of the perks kick started by junior’s arrival.

But don’t panic. Pregnancy is one of the most amazing times in a woman’s life and just a few simple tips can help you prepare for the time ahead.

Lucy Atkins, mother of 3 and author of ‘First Time Parent’, returns with her second vodcast to help steer you through your worries and fears. She is joined by the her Fairy Godmothers, a panel of mothers and soon-to-be mothers, who are offering advice and guidance into on how to adjust to the first few months of motherhood.

In her second instalment Lucy and the Fairy Godmothers share their knowledge on what to expect in the first few weeks at home. Sharing their tips on everything from taking a ‘babymoon’ - which simply means taking time out from house work and other activities to spend at least a week bonding with your baby - to not trying to be super mum and accepting help from friends and family when they offer to cook for you.
