Default Giving up Toddler Group

Sadly to-day daughter and I decided to quit the Group. We were doing all the work, paperwork, treasuer, sorting toys out etc.Thought we had a super group as it was so organized but very few parents would sign up!The crunch came,I was away looking after new granddaughter, other Grandson had chicken pox .
Quite a few Mums moaned we were not there and what were they getting for their money?Although daughter had arranged for someone to take healthy snack in ie fruit, the Mums said their children did not like fruit only biscuits (they had eaten them for the last 7 weeks!)
Some of the Mums phoned daughter to say they were not coming back!
I was doing this to keep the group open because if no one from the village runs it the cost goes from £8 to £35!!
In the meantime the mothers who will not return have set up another group and asked me for help! Sorry not again!!

that is a shame, it is hard when people wont help out with something that they use and attend

but....i am sure you will find something to fill your time!!!1

Oh poor you Chloe, I know you put your all into everything you do, pity those mums weren't more appreciative of what you and your daughter were doing for them.

Unfortunately this seems to be the way community groups are going...people love the idea of a local group run by local parents, but are not prepared to share the work loadthis means it is left to the same dedicated people again and again..aka Chloe.

I know when I used to go to groups as a mum I always helped out... I was treasurer once for a long time - even now, I am second cheque signer for a group as noone else will take it on...!

It's not acceptable that you were doing it by yourself Chloe and you've done the right thing... let them find out how hard it is! You enjoy the free time you've clawed back!
