hi this is some of what i wrote hope it helps
It is important we provide services for children to support them to achieve their full potential. There are a wide range of services available for children and young people. There are children’s centres, youth forums and outreach workers. This helps all children’s services to be able to be flexible in working together with children and young people and to collaborate between services to help children and young people to reach their full potential. For children, young people and parents to understand the importance of networking, communicating and consulting with each other and ensuring up to date services. To have these services for children and young people will give them confidence and self esteem in exploring new adventures like joining clubs, discussion grouschool councils. Also involving parents in clubs, becoming parent helpers and school PTAS this will show parents what goes on in and out of school. Because we all know when you ask a child or young person what did they do today? You normally get responses like not a lot, don’t know and can’t remember or it was boring.

that doesnt really answer the question though? this is asking why the children's NEEDS are important when designing a service. so first you need to identify what dyp needs are........ then think about how you will meet each of these when planning. for example a good after school club will recognise that most children need some quiet time straight after school and provide a space for it equally they will also understand that older children need to let off steam so will plan active stuff. in nursery we plan the day to allow for circadian rhythms hence we tend to have rest time in the afternoon BUT dont insist on children sleeping due to individual need.
a recent example is the realisation that children NEED access to water all the time so we now plan good services with access ie snack tables and fountains. this is not about adults or parents it is about the NEEDS of the child and our planning to meet them
