General question UNIT 24 outcome 1

What ways can i assess the development areas for a child?

Do i need to do an obs for every area?

Question 4 is to develop a plan to meet the development needs of the child, do i do a plan for every area or just one.

Any help will be great

observation you carry ouy on a child backing up with pictures, individual education plans, learning jounrals and jounerys, communication and running records, eyfs development drop down for pre schools and developmental jounrals for additional needs for disabled children.

Schools use observations and tests like reading and phonic tests weekly national literacy and numeracy statergy ppa sats and gcse a levels etc for older children.

Hope this helps a little

Heyy :) i've literally just done this question yesterday haha!

I did two observations of a child. One observation covered all areas of development apart from physical. So i did a second observation which covered physical development and other areas so that i have two to go by :)

Also, i did a written observation over an afternoon. So this includes free description and also time sample cus i was doing the free description method but did it for longer :)

Hope that helps :) x

Hey, no worries :)
Yep i've done the development plan and implemented it.

I did it for a new child settling in and she needed continuous support to settle. I used the plan criteria on pg 87 of the penny tassoni cypw book (do u have that too?) typed that up and filled in it, then used my weekly planning sheets to show activities for each area of development and how the activities on it support the development plan to help her settle in.

Also, my assessor is coming to observe me doing an activity that promotes positive behaviour! Do u have to do that to?

Dont suppose u have any ideas for it do u? I have children aged 2 and a half that day and cant think of anything x
