17 July. Lowerhouse Guided Dragonfly Walk. Lowerhouse Lodges LNR. Come and find out more about Dragonflies and wildlife that live on the reserve in the summer. Free Event. 18 July. Herb Walk. Seven Acres Local Nature Reserve, Bolton. A gentle stroll around Seven Acres looking at how modern day weeds growing in the hedgerow were once readily used for food and medicine. Booking essential. Details on enquiry booking from the site mentioned above or 7 Acres.
18 July. Walk to Greenfield Road LNR. Join us on this short walk to Greenfield Road LNR. Arrival at the LNR will coincide with the moth event at 9pm. The event is free to attend. 19 July. Greefield Road Pond Dipping. Come and find out about the weird and wonderful creatures that live in Greenfield Pond. All equipment provided. Children must be accompanied by and adult at all times.

19 July. Go Batty at Lowerhouse Lodges LNR. Guided bat walk round the LNR with a local expert. Free Event. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. 20 July. Lowerhouse Lodges Earth Walk. Join the Wildlife Trust Education Team on a walk round Lowerhouse Lodges and find out more about your local wildlife through fun activities. 23 July. Alkincoates Woodland LNR Clean Up. Open to everyone although children should be accompanied by an adult. Suitable footwear for woodland paths which can be muddy. Some footpaths have been reinforced to provide wheelchair access – ask at marquee or contact organiser for details. Necessary equipment supplied and group members will accompany attendees. Alkincoates Woodland Local Nature Reserve, Colne. Meet at the marquee adjacent to rugby club car park. From end of M65 turn left onto Vivary Way, ahead at the traffic lights to the roundabout. Take first exit left onto Harrison Drive, continue to the top going straight across at the next roundabout. Road forks right up to the rugby club car park.
23 July. Alkincoates Woodland LNR Wildflower Planting. Open to everyone although children should be accompanied by an adult. Suitable footwear for woodland paths which can be muddy. 23 July. Alkincoates Woodland LNR Nature Trail. A guided walk covering bird identification, wildflowers and pond life. Experienced walk leaders will identify birds by sight and sound, identify wildflowers along the route and there will be an opportunity to pond dip to examine the diversity living in this environment. 25 July. Eight-Legged Freaks! 10.00am - 4.00pm. Seven Acres Local Nature Reserve, Bolton. Make your own pooter and then hunt for some spiders in the undergrowth! Not for the faint hearted. Booking essential - visit the site at the top or 7 Acres This is a Playscheme event aimed at 8 - 14 year olds. Under 8s welcome if accompanied by an adult (18+).
29 July. Moth Night. Seven Acres Local Nature Reserve, Bolton. An event organised in partnership with Bolton Museum to link in with their Insecta! exhibition. Get the chance to have a closer look at moths! Booking essential, details on enquiry/booking - visit either the site at the top or 7 Acres.
