Default develop and adapt resources to meet the needs of learners

Hi all. I'm doing level 3 supporting teaching and learning as a distance learning course. Not sure if I should be including examples of things that can be bought and supplied for children that need them such as wheelchairs, walking frames, etc... or examples of alterations I may make to resources such as size of things, volume or use of headphones etc...

not really progressed too much this week. I think I'm going to mention the things such as wheelchairs, walking frames etc... but do a bit more about alterations to things like table heights, font sizes, using audio for an individual that has visual impairments or severe dyslexia, adjusting amounts of objects used when sorting sizes. ( I volunteer in an infant school and nursery). How are you getting on?

Yes, I would add these things, and try and use some specific examples if possible.

Thankyou. I seem to be getting nowhere very quickly at the mo. Have done a report based answer and following your words of wisdom am thinking I may be able to a candidate report or reflective diary.

When planning learning activities it is essential to bear in mind the needs of learners as they are all individuals where some may require specific resources to allow them to access the curriculum. If teaching assistants are working with a child who has SEN they may need to seek advice from a SENCO on how to attain this. The setting may have the resources which are needed for the particular activity or they could be available from catalogues. Nevertheless, in some situations as a teaching assistant it may be possible that I have to develop or adjust some of the resources already available. HTH

Hi I am wondering how you all answered this question, was it with a candidate report or did you use evidence based answers?

Could someone give me an example to start me off of how you started the task, seeing what others wrote helps me gain confidence within my own writing so I know where I stand in the answers.

I am really struggling a little with Assignment 5, it has gone slow. I started assignment 5 2 months ago and am only on task 7. I have a bay due in 8 weeks and would really like to finish this soon as possible.

Hi, write an account using your knowledge of the setting.

Children's needs would of been assessed and are being continually monitored so when thinking about the resources that are currently available in your setting consider how they can or are adapted to meet children's needs.

Can tables, computer chairs be height adjusted?
Is there a selection of pens and pencils in a variety of sizes, does your setting use any tripod grips?
Do white boards have font sizes that can be seen by everyone?
Is there a hearing loop installed so that oral methods of teaching/communicating adapt for those with hearing impairments?

Hope this helps a little, best wishes

Hi thank you for your reply it was very helpful.

Could you give me an idea of what type of format I should be answering this in eg. candidate report, evidence based or both?
