Hi, a warm welcome to silkysteps.

There's much more detailed information on pages 223+ of the level 3 CYPW handbook on amazon.co.uk Quote: In addition to settings working closely with families, we need to recognise that this should be taking place in the context of multi-agency working. This means that there is a role for all settings to signpost services and support that other agencies provide, and also, if necessary, to help parents and carers navigate their way through the different services. Finally, it is important to remember that information about children and their families should not be shared without the carer's permission, unless there are serious concerns about a child's welfare.

Other links you might find helpful are

the benefits of multi-agency working all on safenetwork.org.uk

How does working with other agencies happen in your setting?

Effective means it works and works well, securing the necessary services that individual children and their families need and that they want - which is why children and families need to be at the centre of any decisions involving the services organised for them ie. if they don't want them or see any value in them, they won't be used.

I hope this helps, enjoy the site xx
