Default Shc32 Reflective account

================================================== ==========
step by step help for unit SHC 32 engage in personal development
================================================== ==========

I have to write a reflective account about a time when I have used feedback to improve own performance and inform development. I am assuming that I write an account of an activity that happened after I have had feedback, and how I put it into practice. I am confused - could it also be an account of an incident or activity when someone was present ie Ofsted or my assessor, how it went and what feedback they gave me to put into place for the future. Any help appreciated...

Hi,
As long as you have had feedback, perhaps from colleagues, mentors, assessors or even Ofsted and reflect on how this has helped improve practice. So I would say to use an example of feedback given and then a circumstance you have put it towards.
For example feedback on the different ways to handle a child's behaviour, perhaps you tried one way and was given feedback on trying another. You may have then put that into practice afterwards, here you can reflect on how and/or if it helped, how you felt about it, did you adapt it to meet the child's needs,environment and circumstances and what benefit did it provide to you and the child/children?

Hope this helps

For this, I had a review with my line manager, and asked her to then write a witness statement summarising what we had discussed, I then wrote a witness statement discussing how I have used the feedback from my line manager, and how I plan to improve any areas that were identified. My assessor said this was fine, and to then in a couple of months follow it up with another statement reviewing the actions I had taken, how I went about it, and how this has improved my practice.

hope this helps
