Hi, welcome to silkysteps, unit 51 is also the SHC31 unit

3.2 Identify barriers to effective communication
If you can identify the barriers that relate to your specifc situation you'll be able to see what would need to be done for you to overcome them ...
Enter 'barriers to effective communication on the search page

3.3 Demonstrate ways to overcome barriers to communication
Could include: Public signs, sign language eg BSL, language support eg. PECS, makaton, translation services

3.4 Demonstrate strategies that can be used to clarify misunderstandings
This could include: adapting the message, changing the environment, asking for feedback, allow time, apologise

For
4.2 Demonstrate ways to maintain confidentiality in day to day communication

These demonstrate criteria so may be something you'll discuss or be observed doing by your assessor when they visit?

To help understand how you comply with a setting's policies and procedures for confidentiality consider how you respect each individual's right to privacy - maybe the setting has a quiet less busy place to talk which helps guard against others overhearing conversations? Maybe you only access information in the setting such as personal files when it's appropriate or not at all? Maybe you have responsibility for a key child's records and make sure these are kept secure in the setting, only viewed by appropriate people and only taken out of the setting with the right permissions and authorisations in place, maybe you check to make sure no identifiable information is exchanged during chats with others outside of the setting eg. by not talking to one parent about another parent's child

If you have access to a level 3 handbook the SHC31 chapter will help more xx

Hth
