hey, can someone plz help me how can we monitor childerens progress with a learning journal?

learning jouranls are kept on children they are like a diary some of the children in my setting have them from babies the learning journal working like observations anything significant can be put in them like mark making that later becomes the child writting their own name. a child's first steps to running or riding a trike. you write what you have seen or get the child to say what they were doing and match it up with photos, painting drawing,s all this is linked into the eyfs drop down book .
