Provide examples of physical activities or equipment which will encourage
or challenge individual babies and children of the following ages. For each example indicate which area of skill or development you are supporting. 6 months, 2 years, 3 – 4 years, 6 years,7 – 8 years. And also describe the link between challenging activities and developmental progress.

How are challenging activities and development progress linked? K3D291

A child needs to be challenged to develop. Every challenge leads to development of verbal skills, cognitive skills, physical skills etc. By giving children challenging activities you ‘push’ them to develop and then use new skills. Because they gained these skills they will be able to use them and develop further and make progress in their development.
