Quite simply -if anyone is ill, they don't feel like eating or exercising, if you are chronicly ill (and possibly in pain) you may feel like it less.
If you are a child, without sufficient food/nutrients and exercise you may not thrive - your muscles/bones may be weak, you may be pasty and not have any strengh to do anything that children without illness take for granted.
Although you have asked about physical development, illness can also have an affect on a child's pse development - if they are ill and do not attend pre-school on a regular basis, they are not socialising, their wellbeing can be affected i.e. not sleeping well can affect their mood/emotions, having to have regular medication/hospital check ups etc.
Having a chronic illness can affect a child in every development area. Google the illnesses you have mentioned and they will tell you specifically how they may affect a child.
