Hi, welcome to silkysteps. Parent helpers as much as full time employees will be expected to uphold codes of conduct and have duties that reflect the setting's ethos. If you can identify them it'll help you focus on the way the standards link xx

Enjoy the site :)

Soo stuck on this one.
So i use my job role - What i have to do and see what areas I already do within this?
Then say what i need to do or?
I've only just started looking at this so may come back to it with a clear mind.
But if anyone can re-word this for me so i understand that would be a great help!

Thankyou x

Hi, it's like a matching game .. pairing up what you do with the things that are expected of you ie. performance against relevant standards xx

evaluating is a word that helps you examine what it is that you're doing and the standards of practice ie. knowledge and understanding that the nation expects of you - about NOS, you'll see areas that may not apply eg. maybe you don't currently work with babies so your specific job role won't reflect any professional duties or responsibilities for you to perform ..

Hth xx

Hi, I have just started to look at this unit and am seriously concerned! I am doing my level 3 supporting teaching & learning in schools, course online. I am helping out in my local nursery 1 day a week but have no job description and generally just help tidy up /clean so therefore really worried about to tackle this unit! Any advice anyone??

Hi, the NOS for STL can be found here on education.gov.uk. Can you check with your course provider as to what they're expecting from you for this unit and ask if the nursery setting is an appropriate one for the type of evidence you'll be needing to gather for a stl course.

Best wishes xx

Hi, pages 27+ of the cache handbook preview will help - on amazon.o.uk

Page 70 of collins handbook:
Quote:
Diversity: the range of differences ( age, gender, social, cultural, language, ethical) within a population.
Equality: treating a person fairly or in a way that ensures they are not disadvantaged.
Social inclusion: the process of ensuring that all members of soiety have access to available sevices and activities.
Google definitions are also useful reading: diversity - equality - inclusion

Hth xx
