Default Professional Discussion

Hi guys, next month I have to do a professional discussion on Unit 4.. what is a professional discussion exactly?
Is it where I talk about my own setting and how it relates to stuff in unit 4?? Im a bit confused... my assessor just said to bullet point what i want to talk about.. Any advice/help would be really great thanks guys!

Hi Jenna
i have had a couple of professional discussions and you just talk about the knowledge that you have about the section that you are doing. On mine it was not just about my setting it's about childcare in general. I made myself little notes so that i covered everything that was needed to get the unit signed off.
For instance if it was about observations i would'nt just talk about the way i observe children i would add in what other settings use such as health visitors use check lists/tick lists, sticky notes (playgroups), exams/tests (schools), diaries (nursery),record keeping (everyone), filming/photographs , information from parents/carers and staff to staff (peer to peer). I would then discuss these and maybe what would work better for us and why.

Hope this helps a little.
Lynne
