Default Freud..Help

Hello

Is there anyone that can help me with this one please, Im just not getting it!!

I am trying to apply his theory to practice.

I can apply it to practice with babies as of course he suggests that babies are only born with the ID part of their personality, this informs us as to why they do lots of crying within the first few weeks.

I'm trying to apply it to practice with 3 and four years old and rather unsuccessfully at that! Im sick of:reading:!!!!!!!!

Can anyone help please?

The only bit still relevant that to Freud is children when they lie still use sub con tell tale signs like putting their hands over their mouth to stop the lies or smiling otherwise none of freuds work has been proved to work so hope this helps a little

His name is in the criteria, and he's in the text book, although it's hardly worth the space its taken up to be fair, it doesn't really tell you anything.

My Mum did the NVQ 3 last year, and wrote about trying to encourage the ego to manage the id, i.e. when someone snatches a toy from another child, making them give it back and then ask nicely for a turn. Which does seem to make sense a bit!

Its impossible to get any solid clear info on his theory, seems nothing but a giant muddle of ideas if you ask me!

Default Sigmund Freud psychoanalysis

Hi, if it helps, Freud's psychoanalysis helps to look at phobia - fear of the dark and supports ways children are able to express fear/concern/experiences/understanding through play, overcoming anxiety and bringing worries out into 'reality/concious open thought. Freud presented children's attachments to others as a result of children needing to have their biological needs met, creativity as a means of therapeautic expression, psychosexual theory and children's maturation. Google book preview and Children & childhood are good reads.
